In Asian culture the dragonfly represents change, adventure, courage and prosperity. Janice Jones, along with her business partner Jen Phumin opened Salon Dragonfly. This provided a place for clients to celebrate creative and positive change. She introduced Aveda to the Asheville area over 25 years ago. Jen brings a refreshing presence to the front desk along with an Information Technology degree.

Janice has been in the industry since 1974. She keeps up with today's trends in haircutting, hair coloring, and what works for the individual. She is a custom cutter, sometimes using every technique on one haircut. She enjoys training newcomers in the business and prides herself in being the best she can be in rolling out the red carpet for clients. Her specialty is working with wedding parties in the salon or on site. Working with corrective color is a welcomed challenge. Creating trendy styles for proms and special events can be a lot of fun. "I really enjoy every part of this industry. People ask me when I might retire. My reply is that I can't imagine not having my hands in it. It's like asking an artist to put their paint brush down.

Caitlin has a wonderful talent. She really understands the concept of hair cutting and coloring. Young and eager, she is very adept at providing her clients with trendy cuts and color. She’s patient and enjoys offering a thorough consultation. Caitlin was licensed in 2003 and since then has furthered her education by attending many hair shows and advanced classes. She also offers other services such as manicures, pedicures and brow shaping.

In 2002, Jen Phumin came to the United States from Thailand to realize her dreams as a Hair Stylist. From this, she discovered that a good hair cut & style does not just enhance the way you look. It also gives you a peace of mind and self confidence. Under her mentor Janice Jones, Jen has worked hard to perfect her craft and to continue the growth of Salon Dragonfly.

Lana was licensed in 2008 She has incredible skill with trendy cuts & Color.
Her artistic eye and natural ability offers the perfect fit for the individuals needs.
She offers a lengthy consultation to fully understand the client’s desires. Lana also does beautiful formal styles for wedding or proms.

Hope was educated at the Aveda Institute in Chicago. There she realized her love for the Aveda concept and their products. This is what brought her to Salon Dragonfly, an Aveda concept salon. Hope also attends Warren Wilson College where she is studying business and dreams of one day owning an Aveda salon. She loves working in this industry, because it allows her to use her creative side through cuts and color that compliment each individual client. Hope has a natural talent for this industry. She also offers other services such as manicures, pedicures and facials. Salon Dragonfly is proud to have her!
